Friday 27th March
1.00-2.30pm

If you start your learning design with content, you could be making a big mistake. One of the first things we should consider is access: noticing where our designs create barriers, and making choices that help more people take part fully.
In this Lunch & Learn, Kier Fox will share a practical, designer-friendly approach to building inclusion into your workshop design (with a light touch on delivery, especially online), without turning it into a compliance exercise.
Together, you’ll explore how to:
💡 Spot where sessions unintentionally create barriers for disabled participants
💡 Build in participation options so people can contribute in ways that work for them
💡Strengthen activity briefs, instructions, and materials so the learning is easier to follow and easier to deliver
💡Gather access needs early and respond well in the moment, without making it awkward
You’ll leave with a clearer lens for inclusive design decisions, making it easier to create workshops that feel thoughtful, usable, and genuinely effective for a wider range of learners.
This is an interactive, practical session designed for learning designers who want their design choices to make a meaningful difference, without overcomplicating things.
